  1. Wonderful video Michael. Extremely well done and your sincerity certainly shines through. I hope to see more of the same on your blog.

I’m not of the Christian faith but I seem to have more or less the same thoughts on evil as you. I don’t know the demons the so called evil persons are battling so I don’t have the right to judge them and as you said, I might have done worse in a previous life. However, while I can be compasionate with those I feel have evil ways, I have a difficult time being compasionate of pedophiles.

  2. Thank you Jenny. I do hope to start putting out more videos in the future.

I know what you mean about being compassionate toward Pedophiles. What helps me is something Wayne Dyer said. He was talking about people who abuse children and said that it is a sickness. So rather than viewing them as someone “evil”, we should view them as someone who has a very bad sickness.

  3. First of all, I don’t think I’ve seen you/talked to you in person since we graduated from high school, so seeing you and hearing you just now was kind of surreal! lol

I tend to agree with your stance on evil. I’m sure growing up in the Bible belt, you’ve heard people say “hate the sin, love the sinner.” I feel like that’s what Christ did. He was judged pretty harshly by religious leaders of his day because he associated with sinners, but he plainly tells us in Matthew 9:12 that “it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” Thus, explaining his desire to reach the lost, heal the sick, etc. That doesn’t mean he condoned what they did; he chose to love them anyway. I think Christians are called to be compassionate. Having hatred towards someone who does “evil” is in no way spreading the love, mercy, and compassion of the Christ I know. Just my two cents. :)
